Our Story

Eleven years ago, in the back of a high school orchestra (where neither of us truly wanted to be), we met. It wasn’t love at first sight—more like two teenagers bonding over a shared lack of enthusiasm for sheet music.

From the start, our relationship felt easy, like we were an old married couple. We could sass each other and laugh about it, yet somehow maintain the comfort and maturity of people twice our age. Over the years, that comfort grew stronger—into a partnership rooted in shared growth. Together, we’ve tackled life’s many stages: high school sweethearts, college companions, young professionals finding our way, and now homeowners and dog owners. Every phase has brought us closer, and we wouldn’t trade the journey for anything.

Travel has been one of the greatest joys of our relationship. It’s taken us to amazing places and allowed us to discover new parts of the world—and of ourselves. That’s why it feels so fitting to host our wedding abroad in Amsterdam. It’s not just a celebration of our relationship but also a chance to bring our family and friends together for a shared experience we’ll all treasure.

You might notice a tulip on our wedding materials, a symbol we’ve chosen to represent our new family. For us, this tulip stands for growth, fresh experiences, and simplicity—values we hold close as we begin this next chapter.

We’re so grateful to those who choose to celebrate with us, whether in person or in spirit. Thank you for being part of our journey—we can’t wait to see where the future takes us!

Travel info

We recommend flying into Amsterdam Schiphol International Airport. It has direct flights from most major US cities.

Setting up a flight tracker through Google flights from your city to Amsterdam with your preferred dates is an easy way to keep an eye on flight prices. Once you hit search, you can narrow down your filters and toggle on ‘track prices’. This will track prices for you and send out emails when the price changes. Flights are often best priced 6-9 months out, but if you see a price you like, we would recommend to book it early. If the price then drops anytime after, you can cancel and rebook it at a lower cost and keep any additional extra ‘credits’.

Once arrived at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, there are lots of ways to get in downtown. An easy way is with Uber or with fixed priced taxis that you can take directly outside the terminal.

If you are feeling more adventurous, the train is only a few euros to downtown Amsterdam and leaves directly from the airport!

Tips & Suggestions

For those of you that would like to stay in Amsterdam for a couple of days, we’d like to do give you some recommendations. We recommend Kimpton De Witt Hotel, Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel and Ibis Hotel.

Ons grootste cadeau is dat we samen met jullie de liefde gaan vieren. Mocht je daar iets aan toe willen voegen, dan is een bijdrage aan onze huwelijksreis welkom.
